Sidalcea campestris, also known as Meadow Checker-Mallow, is a beautiful wildflower native to the Willamette Valley. This drought tolerant and long lived perennial is rare in the wild, making it an important addition to meadow plantings and wildlife gardens. It serves as a caterpillar host plant for many native butterflies and attracts native bees like Diadasia nigrifrons which is a Sidalcea specialist.
